Solutions Guide
Industrial Grade MEA Triazine H2S Scavenger
Monoethanolamine (MEA) triazine is the most widely used organic compound for the chemical absorption and conversion of hydrogen sulfide. Formulated at 78% active matter, it delivers maximum cost efficiency per kilogram of active chemical, reducing freight costs and storage footprint.
High-Activity Amine Scavenging Solution
Our high-active MEA triazine is formulated to maximize the active tertiary amine groups available to react with H2S molecules. It provides rapid kinetics for direct pipeline injection and gas scrubbing towers, keeping chemical costs low.
Reaction Mechanism with Hydrogen Sulfide
The tertiary nitrogen atoms in the cyclic hexahydro-1,3,5-triazine ring react selectively with the acidic H2S molecule. This ring cleavage forms monoethanolamine and 5-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,3,5-dithiazine. The reaction does not produce elemental sulfur solids, minimizing pipe clogging.
Frequently asked questions
What is the molecular CAS number of MEA Triazine?+
The CAS number for hexahydro-1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)-s-triazine (MEA Triazine) is 4719-04-4.
Does MEA Triazine cause downstream refining issues?+
If over-dosed, unreacted triazine and spent amine byproducts can migrate into the crude oil, potentially poisoning desalter water and refinery catalysts. Precise dosing is highly recommended.
