Recreational water sanitation isn't just about keeping water clear — it's a public health responsibility. BKC is non-foaming at recommended pool concentrations (5 – 15 ppm active quat) and does not affect pH, alkalinity, or chlorine demand significantly.
For cooling towers and HVAC systems, BKC at 50 – 200 ppm active quat is the most widely used quaternary ammonium biocide for Legionella control, biofilm disruption, and microbially-influenced corrosion (MIC) prevention. BKC works synergistically with phosphonate / polyacrylate dispersants in cooling-water programs and is compatible with chlorine, bromine, and oxidising biocides used in continuous-treatment programs.
